“Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”

Khalil Gibran

A CONVERSATION WITH THE SEA - This body of work was inspired by my recent visit to the Mediterranean region. One of my favorite things to do when visiting a sea destination, is to sit there for hours, watching the crashing waves. The gentle yet powerful waves crashing on rocks, enables us to find solace in the present moment. In this brief moment, we embrace a space of clarity, presence, and potential.

The natural rhythm of the tides create an overwhelming sense of synchronicity between nature and us. The sharp, rugged edges of the rocks, stand in defiance in the face of the violent waves. The waves create their own dance. Swaying back and forth, dancing in the sea foam playfully.

In this body of work, I was influenced by two elements of nature; rocks and waves. We are the rocks. Life is the sea. Rocks are symbols of permanence, and unwavering strength. They are grounded. Life has its crashing waves that we learn to ride. Each wave heightens our awareness further and further.

We bask in the elegant simplicity surrounding us. We learn to pay attention to the beautiful world around us.
